Majolica is a tin-glazed earthenware style of pottery that originated from Majorca, Spain. It was only 250 years later when this type of majolica resurfaced, and was picked up by Alvaro Jose of Caldas in Portugal, who was one of the first to create the iconic multicoloured lobster and crab plates.
