An uncommon late-18th-century Dutch Delft tile, hand painted in manganese purple with a pair of lovebirds perched within an oval wreath, framed by delicate Louis XVI-style ornament. The freely brushed decoration and traditional tin-glazed earthenware body are consistent with Dutch production around 1780. Approximately 13 cm square.
