An unusual dessert (or salad?) plate with a blue on white chinoiserie design by William Adams , a vintage reproduction on the Chinese Bird pattern introduced in 1780. The plate features a central panel with exotic bird, surrounded by four panels, each with figures of three men. Based on the backstamp, ‘Made expressly for B Altman & Co’, a department store in New York (1865 to 1990). I think this plate is 1930’s or so in date, but any info appreciated! Measures 21.3cm across approx. CONDITION - no chips, cracks or crazing and generally in very good vintage order
