A really lovely vintage Wedgwood "British Olympics Association" collector plate in blue japerware with white raised decoration. It is believed to date from circa 1991 - 1992 This plate shows Britannia seated with a lion and shield at her feet. She is holding out a laurel spray with her left hand and has her trident in her right hand. Underneath her are the 5 Olympic rings. Both Britannia and the rings are depicted within an oval surround which is surmounted by a Royal imperial crown. On the rear of plate is embossed "WEDGWOOD" and "MADE IN ENGLAND" as well as the artists initials "GW" In excellent condition. Clean with no scratches, cracks or chips. Diameter 11.2 cms. Weight 103 gms Dispatched with Royal Mail.
