The underside bears a hand-painted mark reading “Talavera”, together with a small unidentified monogram or maker's mark. The design features cobalt blue painted outlines, lattice panels and stylised flowers in blue, yellow, green and red, with the decoration following the pronounced fluted and scalloped form of the plate.
