Vintage L.E. Smith carnival glass oval tray in the historic "Windmill" pattern. This piece features a striking high-relief pastoral scene of a traditional Dutch windmill, wooden fencing, and a small bridge, framed by an elegant embossed floral and scalloped border. Pressed from the historic original 1911 Imperial Glass mold, this late-20th-century reproduction (the "S" on the bottom lets us know the time period) is crafted from deep cobalt blue base glass and coated in a vibrant iridescent carnival finish. It reflects gorgeous, high-contrast flashes of electric purple, magenta, and teal oil-slick hues when caught by the light. Excellent condition. No chips or cracks.
