This striking mid-century novelty ashtray is beautifully moulded, with the irregular ridges, folds and layered structure of a natural oyster shell reproduced in considerable detail. Originally designed as an ashtray, the projecting areas of the oyster shell provide cigarette rests while the deep central bowl forms the receptacle.
