Stunning large antique majolica large Jug measuring approx 8 inches in heigh, beautifully hand painted with an unusual exotic bird in a wooded landscape,and what appears to be a tortoise peering out of a bush,all set off by great bandingtop and bottom. It's in great condition for it's age,and is free from damages or repairs. The colours are bright and vivid.There is a small nibble to the rim of the base edge,which may be original. Not visible in the upright position,and to be picky, a few very fine crazing lines,only visible on very close inspection. A great and rare example to add to a collection.
