A beautiful large Royal Vienna porcelain charger within an ornate gilt metal frame, 19th Century. This fabulous circular charger with a claret red ground, has a central panel which has been finely painted after Ruben’s “ Christ and John the Baptist as children with two angels”. It is housed in a large, ornate pierced brass or gilded bronze frame, with scroll work and foliate designs. The condition is very good for age, with no loss or damage. On the reverse it has the blue beehive mark together with the wording “Spielende Kinder PP Ruben’s”. Size of the actual plate is approximately 34.3 cm diameter, or 55 cm diameter, including frame. A rare and wonderful piece, it will be packed with care and insured!
