This is a rarely seen pair of Staffordshire Jackfield Redware cows with milkmaids dating to the Victorian era. They appear to be a matching pair though both milkmaids face the same direction, perhaps as they were modelled looking to the left. They are in good antique condition with no chips with just the expected wear to the gilding. The cow looking right has what appears to be a scratch to the top, this may be along the crease of the mould. The very tip of one horn is lost but it is in otherwise very good order. The cow looking left also has lost the tip of one horn and some bocage to the front ground, please see the detailed photos. They stand approximately 6 inches (16cm) high and are 7.25 inches (18.5) long.
