A fine example of a salt glazed small basket C1840. From the Brampton Pottery, Derbyshire. Known marked examples from S. & H. BRIDDON. Glazed in shades of tan/brown. Well decorated all round with stylised acanthus leaves and long stemmed flowers above a rope twist base rim. The simple loop handle formed from acanthus leaves. Excellent condition. Approximate dimensions: Length 12.5cm; Height 8cm, width 10cm.
