A stylized salmon swims upstream. This tile was featured in a mural I did for the Detroit Zoo's Arctic Ring of Life. This relief tile is hand pressed in stoneware and glazed in multiple colors, emphasizing its sculptural dimension, including a third kiln firing to achieve the lustre overglaze. Tile measures roughly 12 and 1/4 inches wide by 6 inches high and is about 5/8 of an inch thick at the edges to about 2 inches thick at its deepest point. It is notched in two places on the back so it can hang on two nails.
