This is a Royal Worcester Figurine that was commissioned by The Townswomen's Guild in 1999 to celebrate their 70th anniversary. It is named 'Margery' in recognition of its first president Dame Margery Corbett Ashby who co-founded the organisation to teach good citizenship to women after they received the vote. The patron is The Princess Royal. The figurine is wearing a knee length blue dress under a matching coat which has a brown trim. She is standing in front of a plinth and holding a scroll in her left hand. This is a limited edition of just 1929 of which this is numbered 218 on the base. It was designed by Elizabeth Greenshields and modelled by Richard Moore.
