Grnadmother's Dress was originally modelled by Freda Doughty in 1935 and was issued from that year until finally being retired in 1983. It was released in a variety of colours including this one which is red. The black backstamp of the name indicates production in the 1970s. This figurine is claimed to have been the salvation of the Worcester factory that was close to bankruptcy in the 30s. Freda Doughty based her creations on her children, producing many series of popular figurines until her death in 1972.
