Glassblowing first began in Hokitika in the 1970’s when two young Swedish glassblowers, Ove Janson and Ken Johansson, decided Hokitika was an ideal location for a glassblowing factory. Standing at 13.5cm in length and 9.5cm in height, this clear glass sculpture features a textured kiwi bird design, typical of the mid-century modern style.
