This is a very rare item from the Merredith & Drewv Buscuit Jarr, the round shape used on counter tops in shops & Public Houses. Made about 1853 in the Q.Victoria Reign 1837 - 1901 given the Royal Warrant. looking for another of the same, there appears not to be any about. This item was discovered in a Pub CellarCamberwell, SE London in 1975 and has been stored since (51 years ) There is a slight chip 2/3 mm on the rim under the lid , unnoticeable. Very Rare hence the value as recommended. It is worth looking up the Origins of Merredith & Drew - interesting history and the flavours of Buscuit goes on. please buy me. a part of our Heritage.
