Trudi Battershall (1921–2019) spent seven decades at the potter's wheel and kiln in the Philadelphia suburbs, building a reputation as one of the region's most accomplished studio ceramicists. Originally trained as a painter at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned both her BFA and MFA by 1944, she discovered clay at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford during the 1960s and never looked back.
