Polia Pillin was a Polish painter and potter known for her distinctive ceramic pieces. Born Polia Sukonic in 1909 in Poland, she immigrated with her family to the United States at age 15. She went on to study sculpture and painting at the Jewish People’s Institute in Chicago.
