This vase is part of the Paprika series designed by ceramist and painter Anna-Lisa Thompson for Upsala-Ekeby in the 1950s. The vase is made of an unglazed textured brown clay with contrasting white leaves in relief. Thomson designed the Paprika collection in 1948-1951; it consisted of vases, bowls and plates. It went on to become one of the best-selling series in Upsala-Ekeby's history, although production stopped fairly soon in 1969. The vase is stamped on the bottom with the initials ALT, the model number (1018), and Made in Sweden. Good vintage condition.
