This is a ceramic wall mask, titled “Flapper” and signed in 1989 by the American artist Louis Mendez (1929-2012). Mendez was a ceramic artist known for his figurative sculptures, masks, and architectural installations that blended ancient cultural aesthetics with modernist / Art Deco forms.
