Large pottery vase by Sigvard ”Sigge” Andersson at Skansen Pottery 1960’s

£97

This beautiful vase was designed by the Swedish artist, Sigvard "Sigge" Andersson, in Skansen near Stockholm. It was most likely created in the 1960's when Sigge was the lead designer for the Skansen pottery workshop, Andersson was also a designer for Upsala-Ekeby. The exterior of the piece has a "fat lava" style glaze in greens, blues and black with a dark brown interior glaze. It must have some salt in the glaze because it has a light iridescent shine. The vase is marked on bottom with Sigge and Skansen. Overall this is a striking piece of Swedish modern ceramic art.
