In 1986, Stofan joined Westerwald Pottery in Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania, working as a primary potter and contributing heavily to their production of traditional stoneware. Galleries representing his work noted in 2026 that Stofan relocated south, causing him to temporarily halt active production.
