Gardner studied at the Glasgow School of Art and Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent. She established her studio in Glasgow, Scotland in 1991 and specialises in hand painted tiles. Her work is shown on pages 118-193 of the reference book "20th Century Decorative British Tiles Craft and Studio Tile Makers" by Chris Blanchett.
