This is a vintage Egersund Kongo storage jar from Norway, designed by Kåre Blokk Johansen. The jar is from the mid-century modern period, likely the 1960s. It features a hand-painted modernist design with a wooden lid. Egersund Pottery was a Norwegian ceramics company that operated from 1847 to 1979. The Kongo design was used on various items, including bowls, casserole dishes, and storage jars. Excellent condition for it's age.
