A rare set of 26 cobalt blue H. & R. Johnson wall tiles, each 15cm x 15cm and marked ‘Made in England’ to the reverse. Architectural salvage reclaimed from a private estate in Hereford, England, I believe these tiles were produced in the 1970s but they could be earlier. The condition is overall very good, some of the tiles have some tiny nibbles to the edges (not visible when set on a wall) and most have in-manufacture glaze / surface crazing. The colouration is rich and vibrant, and they are clearly of a very high standard of manufacture.
