Antique Victorian Cranberry Glass Bowl w. applied clear glass Rigaree Ruffle

£24.62

Beautiful Antique Victorian Cranberry Art Glass Bowl. Hand-blown, the rich pink-red hue was traditionally achieved by adding gold chloride to molten glass. In very good condition for its age. Small nick to the inside rim which does not affect display. Please see last photo for further details. The piece features a distinct, ornate clear glass rigaree or ruffled collar applied around the top rim. Produced Circa 1860–1890, often by notable British glassworks in regions like Stourbridge (such as Stevens & Williams or Thomas Webb). Depending on its exact size, these small vessels were typically used during the Victorian era as open sugar bowls, finger bowls, or luxury table salt cellars.
