This antique porcelain candle holder in a Continental Japanese style features intricate handpainted Kunani motifs. Probably made in Germany or Austria. at the end of 19th century and beginning of the 20th. It features gorgeous l hand painted scenes of country life and nature with flying swallows. Also decorated with cut and rounded brown corners. Well constructed with base and candlestick joined with brass sleeve. Great solid condition with some paint chips on the brown corners. Please see the pictures for more details. Very rare. Originally, different items could be attached to the base, such as an inkwell or pocket watch holder, and was probably sold as a set.
