Antique Oval Tray Majolica Italy Late XIX Century. Oval majolica tray with shaped edge and polychrome Raphaelesque decoration with foliage and fantastic animals. Two dragons facing each other frame the Florentine lily, taking up a motif that is also quite well known in Deruta majolica. The blue mark on the back of the plate traces it back to the Bonato di Angarano manufacture (Archive of ceramic marks letter B).
