This late Victorian cabinet plate is decorated in the Aesthetic style, with a deep cobalt blue border enriched by intricate gilt foliate decoration surrounding a pale blue well. At the centre is a shaped reserve depicting kingfishers amongst bullrushes, executed entirely in gold and creating a lovely contrast with the surrounding colours.
