Crafted by one of the celebrated "Coburg" or Von Schierholz porcelain factories in Thuringia, Germany, this piece is believed to date from 1865 to 1911. Founded in 1815 in Plaue, Thuringia, the Von Schierholz porcelain factory was initially under the patronage of Gunther Friedrich Carl I, the sovereign of Sondershausen.
