The is an antique Emil Fischer art pottery plate featuring a classic Hungarian folklore scene of a peasant plowing a field with horses. Manufactured in Budapest, Hungary between approximately 1885 and 1910, these collectible ceramics showcase a distinct late Art Nouveau / Jugendstil aesthetic characterized by stylized landscapes, soft polychrome glazes, and prominent dark slip-trailed outlines. Has a production defect in the glaze, some glaze loss and scratches along the bottom, a chip along the backside rim as well as a predrilled hole for hanging. Please see all pictures. This is in remarkable condition for a plate that is over 110 years old.
