Rare Alhambra Tile Company (1901-1941) faience tile measures 6" square and about 3/4" thick. Molded in relief from a faience clay and depicts a pair of Palmetto palms (sabal palmetto). Has several marks on the back. Looks to be in mint and unused condition. The Sabal Palmetto, or cabbage palmetto, is the symbol of South Carolina and Florida. This is a lovely tile with beautiful coloring. Weighty! It’s a pound and a half on my scale.
