A large original Minton tile measuring 8 inches square designed by John Moyr Smith as part of the husbandry series, this one being Espalier (An ancient horticultural and agricultural practice of training woody plants such as fruit trees to grow flat against a surface such as a wall or fence etc by pruning and tying their branches). Some minor surface crazing and old paint spots to the edges. Some small chipping to the corner edges but nothing too serious. No cracks or hairlines and overall in good condition for its age.
