For sale is a great cream ware reticulated basket made by David Wilson & Sons , Hanley , Staffordshire , in the very early 19th century . The basket is hand painted with a nice flower on the bottom inside, a some blue and gold trim to the side, some nice detail added to the outside reticulated areas and two branch handles painted in gold. A very nice piece by a hard to find maker. The basket is in great condition with one handle having some flaking to the gilding - not sure why - the piece seems to be original and the gilding matches but maybe there was some work done to it!? I am honestly unsure in this case. There are three white spots in the blue trim where the color was missed / flaked. Either way the piece displays perfectly and is a superb example!
